A Great Family Attraction

Now in our 12th year we entertained thousands of people in 2012 with lamb feeding in the Spring, hawk and owl demonstrations through the year, feeding the goats, meeting the micro pigs – and full size versions too – making friends with Annie Moo and cuddles galore with rabbits, guinea pigs and if the fancy takes you – the rats as well.

Plenty of home made cakes and local fresh food in our 5 star tea room – play areas for the kids with a brand new bouncy castle – it all makes a perfect recipe for a great value day out for all.

This year the ferrets are in training waiting for the race course to be completed and the baby owls have their own new nursery in The Hatchery.

Micro Pigs

Micro or mini pigs are real pigs – but in miniature. When born they will fit into a tea cup and at full grown size they are around the size of a spaniel – but chunkier.

We have 2 breeding pairs at Rushmoor and they will each have a litter during the course of the year – the litter size ranges from 6-10. Within 24 hours of birth they have ventured out of their straw to investigate their surroundings – and within a week they have decided to explore the park.

Watch out for them racing round chasing feathers or each other and generally squealing all the way home – in the best nursery rhyme tradition!

We do sell the piglets subject to the prospective purchasers being able to demonstrate they have appropriate housing and general facilities to care for the pigs – happy to give advice and guidance where necessary – please contact us if you would like to know more and we will send you a fact and information sheet so you can register your interest.

Just Sit Back, Relax and Watch the Children Play

Gayle from West Sussex says "I just wanted to write and say that we had an absolutely fantastic day, my little boy, Connor, thoroughly enjoyed himself and couldn't wait to get back to school and tell all his friends that he had a Harris Hawk and a Barn Owl land on him!

The lads were so knowledgeable and really took the time to answer all our questions whether it was about the new baby rats or the majestic European Eagle Owl, they made us feel very welcome and showed such a passion for their 'work' - we are sure to be back when we next get up to visit and just wish we had somewhere like Rushmoor a little closer to us!"

Chris from Lincoln says - : What a great day out we had today with our Grandchildren. it was far better than we ever expected and exceptional value for money.

Even though the day was dull with drizzle that did not stop the children from thoroughly enjoying themselves. A goat tried to climb in the hatchback of the car and my grandaughter wanted to take home a pony, horse and rabbits - just to name a few.

I was very impressed with all the staff, how good they were and knowledgeable and determined that the kids have a great day and take away happy memories. There is something for everyone and we enjoyed Rachel’s garden. I bought a boot load of plants.

Certainly be coming back. . A really great day out and one we shall all remember.

Orrie and Sarah

Hoot with owls and hunt with hawks..

Walk past the weathering lawn where the hawks and redtails will be sat watching you watching them – this is an opportunity for them to enjoy the summer weather and allows them to preen their feathers ready for flight and assists in preventing water logging.

Handling and flying demonstrations daily where the audience is as involved as the falconers – from the perfectly child sized booboks to Orrie the Eagle Owl – fun and informative.

Bring Your Own Picnic

Picnics are welcome – designated picnic area outside for lunching “al fresco”.

The Tearoom enjoys a 5 star rating for Food Safety and Hygiene and offers a wide choice of hot and cold snacks and healthy eating along with favourite children's meals - wonderful home made and local baked cakes - all sourced locally wherever possible
